The Stargazers' Social and Supper Club has a long and quiet history as a social club in Hopeful for educated gentlemen who studied the stars and astrology. These topics, as its happens, are also of interest of a great many mages and sorcerers, and many joined the Stargazers' Club. The Club offered a good cover story during the "Dark Days", an ironic reference, indeed, which refers to the days of persecution of magic.
Since the invasion of the Republic, and the attendant decriminalization of magic use, the Stargazers' Club has come out rather openly as a social club for wizards, sorcerers and the occassional bard. In fact, the Club is starting to operate something like a guild, occassionally drawing the attention (and ire) of the Mysterium and the locals.
Permitting the membership of sorcerers has drawbacks, however. The Republic eliminates any sorcerers it encounters. Also, due to their draconic heritage, sorcerers attract evil factions, cults and spies like honey draws flies. This tension has lead to an increasing schism between mages and sorcerers. (This would be an excellent opportunity for PC sorcerers to be approached and tempted.)
